Re-watching Star Wars – The Machete Order
Warning: Lots of talk about Star Wars ahead! If you are not a Star Wars fan, you may wish to turn back now.
First of all, I would like to claim no ownership of the invention of the ‘Machete Order’ of watching the Star Wars movies, that goes to the writer of this (Admittedly lengthy) blog post regarding how this order of watching this popular series of movies goes. I recommend you read it.
Now, I stumbled upon this article, read all the way through it, and found myself agreeing with much of what was said.
Again, I recommend you read the article for a much more in depth explanation, but I’ll put down the gist and what I took away from it.
I’m not the biggest Star Wars fan, but I know more than I care to admit about a certain galaxy far far away than many people, which I don’t know is a good or bad thing. I’ve often thought about watching the entire set of movies in a ‘marathon’ (Probably with friends) but the daunting prospect of watching 15 hours of Star Wars ignites the flight reflex in me.
WIP Painting – Battlewagon Update 1
Well, its been slow going with the Wagons.
A lot of stuff is gotten in the way life-wise, but I wanted to put an update up.

The search for the ultimate hobby cutter!
I’ve developed a bit of a problem one with Games Workshops tools: The sprue cutter.
I find it to be a somewhat inprecise and messy tool that, while ideal for most hobbyists from beginners onward, is not ideal for more experienced painters.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not putting myself firmly into the category of ‘experienced painter’ at all, but I can honestly say that people have told me I’m ‘good’, which is good enough for me.
The last few weeks I’ve spent more than a reasonable amount of time looking at cutters as I’ve become frustrated with the results of my trusty GW cutter. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just that I want better, and I feel that Read the rest of this entry »

VMware vSphere client 4.0 crashing when downloading files
To be honest, I’ve been using VMware vSphere for some time and I’ve not encountered this issue before. Apparently this also happens when trying to upload, but I did not encounter this.
Very annoying, because it closes the vSphere client as well as the DataStore Browser… grrr.
Solution? Start the vSphere client as Administrator.
Microsoft’s new Filesystem – ReFS
There’s an interesting read over at Microsoft’s ‘Building Windows 8‘ blog regarding their new File System for Windows 8.
Among others, one interesting part I have noted is that “ReFS will be introduced only as part of Windows Server 8“.
Link to the blog post is here.
WIP painting – My Black Reach Warboss
Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of painting of my Warhammer 40k Space Orks. I’ve fallen behind my grand plans of having
my fully painted army, but I started telling myself that ‘I’ll never finish it if I dont do it’. The other day, I decided to finish my half-painted Warboss as something that I should really do. Read the rest of this entry »
Transformers: Fall for Cybertron epic trailer!
I thought I’d share the amazing Transformers: Fall of Cybertron Trailer, for anyone who may care about Transformers as much as I do.
I loved Transformers: War for Cybertron and this looks like it’s going to be a very worthy follow-up.
Also, Starcream getting a sucker-punch to the face by who looks like Ironhide is not to be missed, as is the welcome return of Grimlock!
Personally, I’m loving the dark foreboding end-of-days feeling throughout this trailer, very much like what Epic have been doing for some time with the Gears of War game series. Read the rest of this entry »
Living the life of a ‘packrat gamer’
Well, I’ve finally (FINALLY!) finished Bioshock. Yes, Bioshock, the game that was released over 4 years ago in 2007. This is not because of difficulty or unwillingness, but mainly because I’m a self-confessed ‘packrat gamer’.
“But what is a packrat gamer?” I hear you ask… Read the rest of this entry »
Run android Apps under Windows!
Something I’ve stumbled onto today, from company BlueStacks that apparently lets you run your favorite Android Apps on your PC. Yes, that means your Windows x86 PC (No Mac version yet).
Download the BlusStacks ‘AppPlayer’ (117MB) and once installed, pops up on your desktop using a neat-looking Windows 7 ‘gadget’. This gadget pops out to show the apps you can sync with your device.
Something to keep an eye on perhaps…
